What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP is a concentrated source of growth factors found in your body. It is produced when a practitioner takes a sample of your own blood and spins it down into its base components, one of which is growth factors. These growth factors stimulate cellular growth, proliferation, healing, and cellular differentiation, improving collagen and elastin production.
What should I expect during the treatment?
A sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to supply the practitioner with your platelet-rich plasma. The PRP is then injected into the scalp on the affected and surrounding areas.
What should I expect after treatment?
There is no downtime following the procedure. You may notice some redness, tightness, and pinpoint bleeding for the first few hours after the procedure. We ask that you keep the area clean and refrain from touching the treated area, exercising extensively, and avoid swimming pools and hot tubs until the day following your procedure.
